Alan Simensky is a self-taught artist who reflects his passion for painting in vivid, intensely-colored compositions. His bright works incorporate recognizable images in strikingly original juxtapositions, which have been referred to as both fanciful and witty.   His lively themes create a dialogue with recent art history in an irreverent and refreshing post-Pop manner. They also reflect the influences of a wide range of contemporary masters from Morris Louis and Gene Davis to Roy Lichtenstein.

Mr. Simensky has exhibited in a number of galleries in both the New York and Washington, DC areas. His imaginative work is in numerous collections, both corporate and private. In 1995 he was voted "Most Promising New Talent" by the readers of Ken Oda's Art Newsletter for Art Professionals in the Washington, DC area.

Alan Simensky is currently represented by Conner Contemporary Art, 1730 Connecticut Avenue NW, 2nd Floor, Washington, DC 20009. (202) 588-8750.
